For your consideration, a one-of-a-kind, John Schulps custom made hunting knife that that falls more into the category of John’s fighting knives. This evidenced by the protection that the dual finger cutouts in the handle affords the user as well as the sharp edge at the base of the handle. John always called it a hunter though, and never a fighting knife. John was a master knife maker and was already very well known in California when I met him in the early 1980’s. This knife is a clear representation of that level of skill and craftsmanship in its simplicity of design offset by strength and balance. It fits the hand well and is thick and has a surprising heft. Blade length is 1.75” x 6.5” with an overall length of 12.5”. As is true with most of his knives, the handle is made of laminated micarta in reddish/brown tones overlaying a layer of burgundy micarta. This knife is signed, dated ’84 and has never been used. It is completely original and in perfect condition. It is absolutely beautiful. It also comes with its own one of a kind leather sheath, also made by John.
