For your consideration, a one-of-a-kind, John Schulps custom made hunting knife that John said was inspired by a fishing trip he took to Alaska. You can see his interpretation of the fish attacking the lure on the heel of this knives’ handle. John was a master knife maker and was already very well known in California when I met him in the early 1980’s. This knife is a clear representation of that level of skill and craftsmanship in its simplicity of design offset by strength and balance. It fits the hand well and is thick and has a surprising heft. Blade length is 1.5” x 6” with an overall length of 12”. As is true with most of his knives, the handle is made of laminated micarta in brown tones overlaying a layer of burgundy micarta. This knife is signed, dated ’84 and has never been used. It is completely original and in perfect condition. It is absolutely beautiful. It also comes with its own one of a kind leather sheath, also made by John.
